How to Renew an Expired M2M Credentials?

To renew an expired M2M credential, which typically expires after two years from its creation date, follow these steps:

  1. Open either the Firefox or Google Chrome web browser.
  2. Visit the website https://authorisationmanager.gov.au/#/login
  3. Click on View or manage authorisations.
  4. Choose the business name associated with the entity name.
  5. Click on Manage Credentials
  6. Click Edit to access the current details of the M2M credential
  7. Examine the Valid To item to check if the M2M credential has expired.
  8. If the M2M credential has expired, proceed to the next step.

  9. Rename the file keystore-new.xml to keystore-old.xml. This file can be found on your computer at C:\Users\your-windows-username\AppData\Roaming\ATOMAS.
  10. Return to the RAM portal and click "Back" to return to the list of M2M credentials.
  11. Click on Manage Credentials
  12. Click on Create Machine Credential
  13. If you do not see the option for Create Machine Credential, it means that the required software is not downloaded. Follow the instructions provided at Setting Up Machine Credentials - step 3 to download the necessary software.

  14. Enter your preferred password
  15. Enter the same display name that was used previously. This ensures that you retain the same permissions as before and eliminates the need to set up permissions through the Access Manager portal.
  16. You may receive a warning stating that the credential name is already in use by another credential for the business, and the new credential will share the same permissions as the existing one.

  17. Agree to the machine credential legal statement by placing a checkmark.
  18. Click Download to save the M2M credentials to your computer.
  19. Double-click on the required Sooya Software Application, and your new M2M credential should be automatically selected.
  20. If the new M2M credential is not visible, click Browse and select the new M2M keystore..

  21. Once logged in to the Sooya Application, access the File menu and then click on M2M Keystore Manager.
  22. Delete all the listed M2M Keystores.
  23. Exit from the Sooya application and then log back in with the new M2M credential.
  24. Ensure that you remove the expired M2M from the Sooya Application to successfully submit a lodgement.


Setting Up M2M Credentials

Step 1: MyGovID Mobile App Download

This step must be done by the business owner or an authorised person
If you have already setup MyGovID app then continue to Step 2

  • Download MyGovID app from Google Play or App Store
  • Once the app is successfully installed, you need to setup your personal details
  • Make sure to enter a valid personal details which is linked to the business
  • You need an email address, and two identifications such as Driver Licence and Medicare Card

Step 2: Linking a Business or Company

This step must be done on your computer with either Firefox or Google Chrome browser

  • Run Firefox or Google Chrome browser
  • Go to Relationship Authorisation Manager
  • Click on Login with MyGovID
  • Enter the email address that you setup on your mobile phone for MyGovID
  • Click Login and you should see a 4 digit code
  • Enter the displayed code on your mobile phone and click Accept
  • On your computer, you should be logged in to RAM website
  • If you have already linked your business then continue to Step 3
  • Click on Link My Business
  • Click on Continue
  • Enter the personal address details for the displayed name and click Continue
  • You should see the business name if the personal details matches
  • Select the required business name to be linked with this MyGovID

Step 3: Setting Up M2M Credentials

Once the required business is linked, you can continue to create M2M credentials

  • Click on View or manage authorisation, ...
  • Click on the business name
  • Click on Manage Credentials
  • Click on Machine Credential Downloads
  • New page appears, scroll down to the section How to create a machine credential
  • Click on Windows – Chrome and Firefox to download the required software
  • A zip file atobeinstaller_exe.zip is downloaded on your computer
  • Double click on the downloaded zip file, then double click on ATOBEInstaller.exe and follow the installation instructions
  • Once it is successfully installed, switch back to Firefox or Chrome browser
  • And you might get a popup window to enable the installed extension, click Enable Extension
  • Switch back to the main RAM page
  • Click on Manage Authorisation and click on the business name
  • Click on Manage Credentials
  • Click on Create Machine Credentials
  • Enter your preferred password and a display name
  • Place a check mark on the machine credential legal statement
  • Click on Download to download the M2M credentials on your computer

Step 4: Setting Up M2M on Sooya Software

Sooya Software Products (AtoConnect / AtoConnect 4.1)

Applies to Sooya Software Products (AtoConnect and AtoConnect 4.1)

  • Double click on the required Sooya Software application, either AtoConnect or AtoConnect 4.1
  • Choose the M2M option
  • Click Browse
  • Choose the file named keystore-new.xml
  • If you've saved the M2M Keystore file "keystore-new.xml" in a location other than the default one, you'll need to navigate to the specific location where the M2M Keystore file is stored.

  • Click Open
  • Verify that the new M2M credentials are populated in the drop-down list
  • Enter the M2M password and proceed with the login process.

Payroll Plus STP Software

  • Login to Business Manager Payroll Plus STP
  • Click on File
  • Navigate to M2M Keystore
  • The M2M Keystore window will appear; click on Browse
  • Choose the file named keystore-new.xml
  • If you've saved the M2M Keystore file "keystore-new.xml" in a location other than the default one, you'll need to navigate to the specific location where the M2M Keystore file is stored.

  • Click Open
  • Verify that the new M2M credentials are populated in the drop-down list.
  • Click Cancel to exit
